Book FIAP Biennials 2024/2025

Meticulous print production

When compiling the photographic work of one of the world’s most prestigious institutions, the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (FIAP), the printed catalogue must be much more than an archive: it must become a lasting reference work, featuring impeccable colour reproduction and a presentation worthy of its institutional character. The FIAP Biennials 2024/2025 yearbook meets all these requirements through a robust and meticulously executed print production.

Structure and Protection: Designed to last

With its impressive vertical A4 format and 224-page interior, this publication is a substantial volume in both size and weight. To ensure maximum durability and stability, it features a sewn hardcover binding built on a rigid 2.5 mm board, finished with a classic square spine and matching headbands that reinforce its corporate identity.

The exterior benefits from a dual layer of visual and tactile protection. Both the printed case wrap and the 170 g/m² dust jacket have been finished with a matte anti-scratch lamination. This is a particularly smart choice for large-format photographic publications, as it eliminates unwanted glare, provides a soft, silky touch, and—most importantly—protects the dark corporate backgrounds from scuffs and fingerprints caused by frequent handling.

Every detail matters

The Interior: Material consistency and photographic precision

To ensure a seamless visual transition from the cover to the final page, the publication uses the same paper family throughout. The interior is printed on 150 g/m² silk-coated paper, complemented by endpapers of the same weight, printed double-sided in black to create a refined opening sequence.

Silk-coated paper is considered the gold standard for international photography catalogues. Its coated surface prevents excessive ink absorption into the paper fibres, preserving the integrity of the halftone dots to deliver vibrant colours, exceptional sharpness and outstanding CMYK contrast, while avoiding the distracting reflections typically associated with glossy papers.

Sustainable Production

In line with today’s corporate and environmental responsibility standards, the entire catalogue has been produced using a 100% eco-friendly printing process, demonstrating that the highest levels of technical excellence in print production can go hand in hand with environmental commitment.

The result:

The FIAP Biennials 2024/2025 catalogue is a showcase of editorial craftsmanship. The combination of its hardcover A4 format, the intelligent protection provided by the matte anti-scratch lamination, and the photographic fidelity of the silk-coated paper results in an elegant, durable institutional publication worthy of the photographic art it preserves within.
