Book with printing for the Institut Ramon Llull

Objetives

The Institut Ramon Llull commissioned us to produce their book for the Venice Biennale.

In this book, which revolves around water, every detail is a statement of intent.

The central theme must be immediately visible on the cover. To achieve this, the client requested a very special printing to highlight the word “WATER” on the cover: a radically innovative printing, which CeGe has had the privilege of applying for the first time in the world.

For the interior, a very special four-color process was requested, consistent with the desired feeling.

Project

What makes this book unique is its innovative printing: the word “water” subtly changes through four different colors depending on the angle from which it is viewed. This cutting-edge printing technology debuts with this publication.

The surprises continue inside. Each sheet includes a diptych printed with a special four-color process, which replaces the traditional black and magenta with silver and fluorescent ink. The result is an extraordinary visual effect that aligns perfectly with the powerful conceptual force of the project.

Cover of the art book titled “100 paraules per a l’aigua”, printed with an optical finish that shifts color depending on the angle.
Frontal and side view of the book with the title on the spine and a typographic layout over a grey background.
Close-up of the cover showing the iridescent stamping effect that changes color with the viewing angle.
Interior spread showing a full-color aquatic landscape printed with special ink combinations.
Double-page spread with Catalan text and an artistic photo of a person reading beside a water pond.
Interior artwork printed using metallic and fluorescent inks over strong chromatic backgrounds.
